Qualifying suggests thrills and spills in store for Global Series Round 1!

Three different gamers claimed pole position for the three different races for the first round of the 2024 MotoGP™ eSport Global Series.

The MotoGP™ eSport Global Series is underway as qualifying for Round 1 took place and threw up its fair share of surprises!

danielealoè26 claimed pole for the first Global Series Sprint of the year, while davideturrisi06 took the top spot in qualifying for Race 1 and PieroRicciuti55 for Race 2.

The highly-anticipated season opener will be one of two virtual events this year, before the finale will be live and in person at Milan Games Week in late November, where the the stunning Italian city will be the scene of the crowning of this year’s MotoGP™ eSport Champion!

Just like 2024, gamers will compete in a Sprint race, as well as two longer-length races in each round.

While former champions Jack Hammer4658 and Adriaan_26 are among the favourites to add another crown to their tally, this year’s Global Series line up boasts a group of hungry young gamers keen to show off their speed. Five nationalities are represented, with the finalists hailing from the UK, Indonesia, Thailand, Italy and Spain.

And Round 1’s three circuits are sure to offer up some close racing! Spain’s Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto hosts the Sprint before the UK’s Silverstone Circuit is the scene of Race 1 and the USA’s Circuit of the Americas the scene of Race 2.

Qualifying for the Sprint was topped by danielealoè26 with davideturrisi06 second and reigning champ Jack Hammer4658 third, with just 0.001s separating the top two! The lead positions were reversed for Race 1 with davideturrisi06 edging danielealoè26 for pole by 0.132 with 26_adriaan third. It was another Italian who claimed pole for Race 2 with PieroRicciuti55 pipping 26_adriaan for top spot with danielealoè26 third.

It’s all set up for a stunning show this Friday, when presenters Connor Doherty and Chris Jordan will host the first show of the year in which will begin with highlights of qualifying before the 11 riders take on three race tracks that will pit the finalists’ skills to the test.

Fans can watch on motogp.com and esport.motogp.com, on selected TV broadcasters, and across social media platforms including YouTube (via the MotoGP™ and MotoGP™ eSport channels), MotoGP™ eSport TwitterInstagram, Facebook (via MotoGP™ and MotoGP™ eSport pages) and Twitch via MotoGP™ and MotoGP™ eSport.
