Semi Final 1 of the 2018 MotoGP™ eSport Championship at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli was spectacular, but now it’s time to get set for Semi Final 2 as the 12 fastest players from Challenges 5 – 8 aim to book themselves a place at the Grand Final when they go head-to-head in Madrid on Tuesday 30th October.
The chosen circuit for Semi Final 2? The magnificent MotorLand Aragon. The track is 5.077km long and has 17 turns: 10 left, seven right. It was roundly praised by riders after its first Grand Prix in 2010, and it was rewarded with the IRTA Best Grand Prix of the Year award, the first time a circuit had received the prize in its debut year. All this adds up to a fitting challenge for our gamers who will need to be at their best to successfully tackle the Alañiz layout.
On Monday 29th October, a ten-minute Free Practice session at the venue will allow gamers to get accustomed to Aragon. This will also give them the chance to choose the team they wish to represent in the race according to their lap times, with the fastest Semi Finalist getting to choose first!
On Tuesday 30th at 19:00 (GMT +1) a one-hour show will be broadcasted live worldwide across MotoGP™ eSport channels (Twitch, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter), in addition to motogp.com and key MotoGP™ Broadcasters. This program, among other surprises, will include a 10-minute qualifying session plus a 10-lap race.
Played on Lenovo Legion PCs, each competitor will choose their favourite gamepad – PS4, Xbox One or PC – and the top six players will be those moving through to the Grand Final, which is held in Valencia on 16th November alongside the MotoGP™ season finale.
