Free Practice for Semi Final 2 of the 2018 MotoGP™ eSport Championship saw inaugural and reigning Champion TRASTEVERE73 top the timesheets, giving him first pick of the team he’ll race with on Tuesday evening. The 12 Semi Finalists will each represent one of the 12 premier class teams and the Italian stuck to his roots as he opted to race for Ducati Team, the Desmosedici his chosen weapon around MotorLand Aragon.
TRASTEVERE73 hit the ground running in Free Practice to be the only competitor to dip under the 1:40 barrier, beating nearest rival and countryman IVAN_AVELLA by 0.350 seconds. IVAN_AVELLA’s chosen team? Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and the RC16. Third on the timesheets was another Italian, DAVIDEGALLINA23, just over a tenth off P2 with his chosen team being Team Suzuki Ecstar. P4 and the first non-Italian competitor was PAUL_IG7, the Spaniard also just over a tenth behind the rider in front of him – Monster Yamaha Tech 3 his chosen team. Rounding out the top five was fellow Spaniard JUAN_NH16, losing out to his countryman by a slender 0.009 seconds, with his Semi Final 2 bike choice being the RC213V of EG 0,0 Marc VDS.
Next up on the timesheets was VINDEX813, the Italian competitor just 0.066 off a top five place in Practice as he went for Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s YZR-M1. P7 on Monday evening was RICK_MOTOGP_35, just 0.050 off P6 as yet again the smallest of margins proved to be the difference. The British competitor chose Alma Pramac Racing as his team to try and see him through to the live Grand Final in Valencia.
Eighth as Free Practice drew to a close was XXBOMBER_45XX, who chose the Repsol Honda Team to compete with on Tuesday evening, with ninth fastest RLLORCA26 going for a play in the final by riding a RC213V too, this time in the colours of the LCR Honda team. Completing the top ten was MOE as the Indonesian rider went for the RS-GP and the Aprilia Racing Team Gresini, with 11th placed MOTERO_1 going for the colours of the Angel Nieto Team. Completing the Free Practice times was French competitor QP NOVA QP who will be competing with Reale Avintia Racing on Tuesday evening.
So that’s Free Practice done and dusted, with the stage now set for Semi Final 2 at MotorLand Aragon. A 10-minute qualifying session will take place to determine the grid for the 10 laps race.
