The MotoGP™ eSport Championship has a new champion: davideturrisi06 swept to glory thanks to three measured rides in the final round of the 2025 Global Series to become the fifth different gamer to lift the crown.
He may not have won a race in the third and final Global Series round of 2025. But the Aprilia Racing rider’s podium finishes in the Sprint and Race 1 meant he could claim the crown with a cool ride to fourth place in Race 2.
Broadcasting live from the Milan Games Week in the Italian fashion capital, the 2025 finale was full of drama. Just 35 points covered the championship top four of davideturrisi06, Jack Hammer4658, danielealoè26 and PieroRicciuti55 ahead of the final triple header. But with double points on offer for each encounter, anything was possible.
Despite danielealoè26 (Ducati Lenovo Team) winning the Sprint, Jack Hammer4658 (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) dramatically triumphing in Race 1 and PieroRicciuti55 (LCR Honda) claiming Race 2, it wasn’t enough to halt Italian davideturrisi06, who kept a cool head throughout.
The dramatic season finale was broadcasted live from Milan Games Week, where the the stunning Italian city witnessed the crowning of this year’s MotoGP™ eSport Champion.
In an action-packed live broadcast, 3-time MotoGP™ eSport Champion Trast73 (real name: Lorenzo Daretti) joined the commentary team of Connor Doherty and Chris Jordan to break down and analyse the most exciting moments of the day.
Round 3 offered up plenty of challenges to the 11 entrants. The Sprint took place at the undulating Motorland Aragon Circuit before the historic Le Mans Circuit in France hosted Race 1. And Italy’s breathtaking Autódromo Internazionale del Mugello was the scene of Race 2.
The 3-lap Tissot Sprint was a straightforward success for danielealoè26 who led from the front but was pushed hard from behind throughout by PieroRicciuti55, who came home second. And davideturrisi06 took a crucial third.
Race 1 was a yet another flag-to-flag classic. It had been a fairly straightforward race for the first 4 laps as davideturrisi06 stormed to an early lead and managed the gap to riders behind. But the white flag was soon shown and it was time for some to take a risk. Jack Hammer4658 pitted for wet tyres at the end of lap 5, while PieroRicciuti55 did it a lap later. It appeared davideturrisi06 would win masterfully thanks to his skilled riding in wet conditions on slick tyres. But Jack Hammer4658 made staggering late progress to catch the lead group with just corners to go. And he executed the race-winning move exiting the final corner to win by just 0.08s! davideturrisi06 took a crucial second, with 26_adriaan third.
That meant davideturrisi06 carried a 25-point advantage going into the final race with Jack Hammer4658 climbing up to 2nd. danielealoè26 was the only other rider that could still win the crown with a race to go, 39 points in arrears.
Race 2 at the Autódromo Internazionale del Mugello was another tense affair. PieroRicciuti55 jumped into an early lead from davideturrisi06. But the Italian knew he didn’t need to risk it all. danielealoè26 eventually got through to second, and 26_adriaan (Honda HRC Castrol) into third. A crash from Jack Hammer4658 on lap five ensured the title race was as good as run by the final laps.
In the end davideturrisi06(183 points) claimed his maiden MotoGP™ eSport Championship by 25 points, with danielealoè26 (158) climbing to second. PieroRicciuti55 (152) took third overall, with Jack Hammer4658’s (150) tough final race seeing him drop to fourth.
