davideturrisi06 fast out of the blocks in Global Series Round 1!

Round 1 of the 2025 MotoGP™ eSport Championship’s Global Series served up some tremendous action, with the Italian taking a healthy lead into Round 2.

The Global Series exploded into life as the crucial stage of the 2025 MotoGP™ eSport Championship kicked off with three pulsating outings during Round 1

It was Aprilia Racing’s davideturrisi06 who took the early initiative after winning the first Tissot Sprint of the year, dominating Race 1 and scoring a podium in Race 2 to lead the early standings.

There was plenty to pick apart in the aftermath as reigning MotoGP™ eSport Champion Jack Hammer4658 (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) had two tricky encounters but is still very much in the mix, while danielealoè26 (Ducati Lenovo Team) bounced back in Race 2 after some earlier disappointments.

The highly-anticipated season opener will be one of two virtual events this year, before the finale will be live and in person at Milan Games Week at the end of November, where the the stunning Italian city will be the scene of the crowning of this year’s MotoGP™ eSport Champion!

Just like the previous two years, gamers competed in a Tissot Sprint, as well as two longer-length races in each round.

And Round 1’s three circuits put the skillset of the Global Series’ 11 gamers to the test! The Circuito de Jerez Angel Nieto hosted the Sprint before the UK’s Silverstone Circuit was the scene of Race 1 and the USA’s Circuit of the Americas the scene of Race 2. Presenters Connor Doherty and Chris Jordan hosted the first show of the year

The 3-lap Tissot Sprint opened with drama as favoured runners danielealoè26 and Jack Hammer4658had tough starts while davideturrisi06 took an early lead. PieroRicciuti55 (LCR Honda) ran the Aprilia rider hard, and was never more than half a second behind. Rising star and Global Series rookie JulitoCampeon15 (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) was an amazing third.

Race 1 followed a similar pattern, as davideturrisi06 led from the front with Jack Hammer4658 stalking his every move. Despite the reigning champion’s efforts, the Aprilia rider broke clear to dominate the contest, winning by 3.2s at the chequered flag. Rising star DipoAkbar12 (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) was an impressive third.

Race 2 at the Circuit of the Americas was another encounter laced with drama. It was an epic three-way fight between PieroRicciuti55danielealoè26 and davideturrisi06, with the LCR Honda rider winning by just 0.3s, with danielealoè26 recovering well from two tricky openings to finish second with davideturrisi06 just 0.8s back of the winner in third.

As a result of this early action davideturrisi06 (53 points) takes an early advantage into Round 2, with PieroRicciuti55 (42) 11 points behind. It’s not just between them, however; danielealoè26(32) and Jack Hammer4658 (32) are still in the mix.

And there isn’t long to wait until the next bow! We’ll be back for Round 2 on 31st October!
