All you need to know about the 2024 Pro Draft.

The 2024 MotoGP™ eSport Championship fires into life at the end of this month. Here are some FAQ on the first stage of this year’s series.

The MotoGP™ eSport Championship, one of the longest-running global eSports competitions, is back for an eighth year in succession, with its first Online Challenge starting on Wednesday 28th August.

Using MotoGP™ 24, the game recently launched on the Sony PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, gamers from around the world will be aiming to make it to the three-round Global Series, which will decide the 2024 MotoGP™ eSport Champion.

But to make it that far, gamers must first progress through the Pro Draft. Only the fastest hopefuls in the 3 Online Challenges will progress to the next stage of this year’s MotoGP™ eSport Championship, where they could be picked up by a current MotoGP™ team.

So, how does the Pro Draft Work? Here we address some FAQs on what is needed to progress.

What is the Pro Draft?
The Pro Draft is designed to identify and recruit talented eSport players to represent current MotoGP™ teams in the Global Series.

How is it structured?
The Pro Draft consists of 3 Online Challenges which will be disputed in time attack mode on a particular track, with a chosen MotoGP™ rider and machine without any opponents.

When does it start?
Each of the three Online Challenges will run for five days (from Wednesday to Sunday). The first of these begins on Wednesday 28th August and runs until Sunday 1st September. The second and third will then run in September.

What is the selection process?
With regards to criteria upon which MotoGP™ teams base their recruitment, three areas are assessed: lap and race times, including performances in the Pro Draft as well as the Global Series in previous years. Consistency in those events will also be judged, as will the competitor’s ability to execute a successful race strategy.

What happens when I am selected by a MotoGP™ team?
The top players will receive a contract from a current MotoGP™ team so they can represent them in official MotoGP™ eSport events.

What bikes and tracks will be used for the Online Challenges?
That is top secret at the moment. But all will be revealed on the day before each Online Challenge starts!
