Learn about the gamers from the Rest of the World in the 2021 Draft Selection!

After four weeks of intense competition, the final results of the 2021 Pro Draft are in after four Online Challenges put the varied skillsets of MotoGP™ eSport hopefuls to the test.

Following on from the Pro Draft stage of the series, 25 of the world’s fastest gamers were entered into the Draft Selection, which allows the eleven MotoGP teams to select one to represent them in the Global Series. The Draft Selection runs from 12th to 30th of April.

16 of these gamers are from the European classification of the Global Series, with six being made up of participants from the Rest of the World, and the winners of each regional final in last year’s Rising Stars Series.

So let’s look through a number of the fastest gamers from Europe. Remember only eleven will begin the Global Series with a current MotoGP™ team, while the other eleven will be selected as a team’s ‘Reserve Rider’.

As we’re about to see, there is a mixed selection of top level experience and new blood for the current MotoGP™ teams to choose from!

Should a MotoGP™ team be looking for an experienced name, MrTftw could offer up a chance of success. The Australian now has two years of experience in the Global Series, when he competed with Avintia Ducati on both occassions. With a further year of experience, this laid back Aussie could well be a regular top six runner in this year’s championship. He scored maximum points in this year’s Pro Draft (100 from 100).

He was joined on the 100-point mark by Sanshoqueen. The Indonesian shot to prominence in last year’s Global Series, when competing for Petronas SRT Yamaha. Some wild riding was complimented by a podium in just the second race. Now older, matuerer and smoother,he could be a force in this year’s eSport finale.

Brazil is represented in the Draft Selection with FooXz placing third in the Pro Draft standings. He made his Global Series debut in 2020, and scored a number of fine results (one top six) when representing the Repsol Honda team. He scored 90 points from a possible 100 in the four Online Challenges.

There was a new name in the form of E wahyu P, who was fourth overall with 82 points to his name. He could well be a figure that makes the cut in the eSport finale in 2021. The same could be said for XxBastoner92xX, sixth in the standings.

Likewise Indonesia’s Moe once more made it through to the Draft Selection courtesy of fifth place and 80 points in the Pro Draft. Known as Putut Maulana in real life, Moe has represented LCR Honda in the Global Series in the past two years, and has built up a real following in his native Indonesia.

Two further names to watch: AKI2X from Indonesia, and Gusta from Brazil. Both have qualified for the Draft Selection courtesy of winning their respective Regional Finals in the 2020 Rising Stars Series.
