Sporting events have been temporarily halted worldwide, but all that time at home has given competitors around the world the chance to hone their gaming skills. Now’s the time to put that extra practice into effect as the third and final Online Challenge of the MotoGP™ eSport Championship is here!
Starting on Thursday, 2nd of April at 11:00, Challenge #3 demands gamers to attack the notoriously difficult Circuit of the Americas track in Texas while using reigning World Champion Marc Marquez’s Repsol Honda Team RC213V in the Online ‘Time-Attack’ session. There’s no time better than now to make your final push for a spot in the Global Series. It’s now or never!
The challenge runs from 11am CET on 2nd of April to 7pm CET on the 5th April.
Almost all options are pre-set for the Online Challenge, and only the fastest lap will be recorded, no matter how many times the ‘Time Attack’ session is completed over the course of the Challenge period. Ideal trajectory and rewind will be unavailable during time-trials in the premier-class - meaning pure gaming skill is what’s required to beat the fastest in the world. The machine and rider are also pre-selected and designed specifically for each Challenge period.
When competing in each Online Challenge, gamers will be classified in one of two categories: those from Europe and those from the Rest of the World. The gamers setting the fastest times will be awarded points. At the end of the third Online Challenge the 16 gamers with the most points in the European classification and the six from the Rest of the World classification will make up the 22 riders that qualify for the Draft Selection with 11 of those guaranteed a spot in the Global Series!
