The Global Series, the centrepiece of the 2023 MotoGP™ eSport Championship, is already running as qualifying for Round 1 took place and threw up some varied results for the eleven finalists!
Reigning MotoGP™ eSport Champion adriaan_26 claimed pole for the first ever Global Series Sprint, while Jack Hammer4658 and trast73 took the top spots in qualifying for races 1 and 2 respectively in a series of dramatic sessions.
The highly-anticipated season opener will be one of three virtual events this year, before the fourth and final round of the Global Series will be held live at Ubeat Live Barcelona, a gaming conference with world renown, on 11th November.
Qualifying for the Sprint was topped by reigning champion adriaan_26 with Jack Hammer4658 second and impressive Global Series rookie davideturrisi06 third. Roles were reversed for qulfiying at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya as Jack Hammer4658 pipped adriaan_26 to pole with the vastly experienced Cristianmm17 third. And the final session at Misano was topped by three-time MotoGP™ eSport champion trast73, with Jack Hammer4658 and Cristianmm17 just behind.
It’s all set up for a stunning show this Friday, when presenters Kiko Giles and Jack Gorst will host the first hour-long show of the year in which will begin with highlights of qualifying before the 11 riders take on three race tracks that will pit the finalists’ skills to the test.
