Dorna and WINDTRE talk about new WINDTRE Rising Stars Series

Milano’s Digital Week was the platform for Dorna’s Pau Serracanta and WINDTRE s Tommaso Vitali to discuss the new partnership between the companies and the exciting Windtre Rising Stars Series.

The MotoGP™ eSport Championship continues to innovate and expand in 2020. Now in its fourth year of running, the championship has added the WINDTRE Rising Stars Series to its ranks, a talent spotting initiative to bring fresh, young gaming talent to global attention.

The new venture is backed by WINDTRE , an innovative Italian telecoms company and one of the country’s main alternative fixed-line operators. Among many elements of modern life, the rapidly growing eSports market is dependent on a fast, reliable internet connection, the type of which Windtre excels in providing.

Adding an eSport arm to Dorna Sports’ incredible portfolio of talent promotion programmes, the WINDTRE Rising Stars Series comprises four online challenges in which gamers qualify for three online races: one race for the 11 best gamers from the Americas, one pitting the best of European and African players against each other and one for the top racers from Asia and Oceania.

The prize is sure to attract gamers from all around the world. The three winners will each secure a place in the 2021 MotoGP™ eSport Championship Pro Draft.

This week’s Milano Digital Week featured a variety of events, including the “5G Road – Smart City Smart Life” feature, a presentation organised by Windtre. IT was there that Pau Serracanta, Managing Director of Dorna Sports, and Tommaso Vitali, B2C Marketing Director of WINDTRE , discussed the upcoming partnership between the two companies and the exciting Windtre Rising Stars Series.

On the topic of the new partnership, WINDTRE's Tommaso Vitali said: “We are glad to have an important partner such as Dorna, with which WINDTRE has entered the world of gaming and eSport, an emerging and ever-growing entertainment activity. Not only we will be ‘high-speed’ partner of the MotoGP™ eSport Championship from 2020 to 2022, because gamers need a ‘Top Quality’ connection, but also main and title sponsor of the ‘WINDTRE Rising Stars Series’. This is an initiative in which we strongly believe, because it is in line with our value of inclusive technology and will give young talents the opportunity to become the racers of the future.”
