The MotoGP™ eSport Championship returns for a ninth season and is sure to deliver another season’s worth of action. The series is one of the longest-running global eSports competitions. Since 2017, the series has brought 37 Online Challenges, 11 onsite events and 16 virtual events. That has led to some remarkable figures: 206 million video views, 811 million impressions, and 24.7 million interactions across various social media platforms.
Here is a brief overview of how you can get set-up to take part in the first Online Challenge which starts on Wednesday 2nd July!
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Participants of the 2025 MotoGP™ eSport Championship must be over 16 years of age.
- The series is based on the official MotoGP™ Videogame – MotoGP™ 25. Gamers can compete on a variety of consoles – the Sony PlayStation® 5, the Sony PlayStation® 4, Xbox One and PC – in the Pro Draft which is made up of 3 Online Challenges.
- Participants must accept the 2025 Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Terms of Participation to join.
HOW TO ENTER THE MOTOGP™ ESPORT CHAMPIONSHIP IN SEVEN SIMPLE STEPS
Registration Process:
- Before showing off your skills, you must enroll to compete in the MotoGP™ eSports Championship. Do this by simply accessing the MotoGP™ eSport webpage: https://esport.motogp.com/ .
- Register your details there.
- Click on the link in your confirmation email.
- Login to the website.
- Create your profile.
- Get your special eSport ID code
- Insert this special ID code once you’ve started the MotoGP™ 25 game.
THE CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT:
The Championship is comprised of two main phases; the Pro Draft and the Global Series. The MotoGP™ eSport Pro Draft is the Official Selection Phase and consists of 4 Online Challenges based on a time trial format. The Global Series is the final stage of the 2025 MotoGP™ eSport Championship and comprises 3 rounds of competition. Two are virtual events, with the third and final round broadcast live from the Milan Games Week at the end of November.

PRO DRAFT PHASE
The 2025 Pro Draft will consist of 4 Online Challenges. Each one will require the gamer to set the fastest time possible in time-attack on a particular track on the current calendar, using a current MotoGP™ rider and bike without any opponents. Platforms used will be PC, PS5, PS4 and Xbox One.
The details of the Challenge (rider and track) will be announced a day before each Challenge gets underway. Unlimited attempts to set a fast time are allowed over a five-day period. The Challenges will run through July and August.
Top 15 gamers will be awarded points depending their finishing positions using the official MotoGP™ scoring system. That means 25 points for 1st, 20 for 2nd, 16 for 3rd, 13 for 4th, 11th for 5th and then down to 1 point for 15th. The players who have more points after Challenge 3 will be classified for the Draft Selection.
DRAFT SELECTION
The 11 MotoGP™ eSport teams will select their riders for the Global Series. Each team must pick 1 MotoGP™ eSport Official Rider and 1 Reserve Rider during Draft Pick window.
The Reserve Riders will only be able to compete in the Global Series in case an Official MotoGP™ eSport Rider ceases to participate in the Global Series for reasons including but not limited to withdrawal, disqualification or medical issues.
The format of the 2025 MotoGP™ eSport Championship has been tweaked from previous editions. Four Online Challenges will whittle the competition down to a Draft of 30 names, with 15 coming from Europe, and 15 from the Rest of the World.
GLOBAL SERIES
The Global Series is the final stage of the 2025 MotoGP™ eSport Championship and comprises of three Rounds of competition. Each round will feature a qualifying session to dictate the order of the grid before one Tissot Sprint race and two feature races. These may include flag-to-flag races.
The first two Global Series Rounds will be held online. The third and final Global Series Round will then be held live and in person at Milan Games Week from November 28th-30th. The stunning Italian city will host a Tissot Sprint at Motorland Aragon before the final two GP races of the Championship. The first will be held around Le Mans in France, before the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello, hosts the final showdown.
All races will be held on PC but every gamer will be able to play with their preferred controller.
The Global Series shall determine the ultimate winners of the MotoGP™ eSport Championship and you can follow all the action on selected TV Broadcasters and Digital Channels.
