Under the critical eye of BMW M in Garching, the BMW M2 Coupé was rebuilt, optimised and specifically adapted to its role at the MotoGP™. In addition to custom-made and compulsory safety devices, the BMW M GmbH engineers have donated an extensive line of BMW M Performance Parts to the fleet of M Safety Cars - not only creating eye-catching accents, but also fulfilling functional requirements for aerodynamics, cooling and lightweight construction. Many of the M Performance Parts – including the lower-lying coil-over suspension and exhaust system with flap control – are available as retro-fit components for the “everyday” drivers´ BMW M2 Coupé.
