WithU Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team is happy to announce that Michael Amara is set to represent the squad in the 2022 edition of the MotoGP eSport Championship. The global series will kick off this Friday, the 27th of May at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello, Italy within the eighth round of the 2022 MotoGP World Championship.
The Italian youngster Amara will then get ready for three virtual double rounds (1st July, 26th August and 23rd September) in Le Mans, Assen, Jerez, Spielberg, at the Chang International Circuit and the Twin Ring Motegi, before he will join the WithU Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team again for the final race weekend in Valencia, Spain.
The 20-years old Amara did his first MotoGP eSport Championship back in 2017 finishing in the top 10. He continued in 2018 and ended in 8th place in the overall standings. In 2020, he joined the Yamaha Factory Team for the MotoGP eSport Rising Stars Series. At the same time, he was the first Italian ever to be qualified in the global series and impressed in being the MotoGP eSport Rising Stars Series Champion in 2020 and in 2021.
Being a permanent MotoGP eSport Championship contender in 2022, Amara will feature the WithU Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team colors virtually with his avatar Vindex813 and race number #18 at all MotoGP eSport races, which have been broadcasted by 12 TV stations in over 200 countries with 23 million video views in 2021.
