October will be a busy time in eSport world with both the MotoGP™ eSport Global Series and WINDTRE Rising Stars Series Finals taking place next month.
The all-important 2020 Global Series got underway in July, with eleven finalists engaged in two dramatic races (Mugello and Jerez). All eleven competitors have now had two months to hone their skills and prepare for the final three rounds which will ultimately decide this year’s MotoGP™ eSport Champion.
Round two of the Global Series will be held on Friday 2nd October at 16:00 (GMT +2), with the third round taking place on Friday 30th October, again at 16:00 (GMT +1). The date of the potentially decisive final round has yet to be decided.
Thanks to two brilliant wins in the opening two races, Williams_Adrian holds a ten-point advantage over two-time MotoGP™ eSport Champion trastevere73. Reigning champ AndrewZH has it all to do in the upcoming six races as he sits fourth in the Global Series standings, 25 points off the leader.
All three Regional Finales of the WINDTRE Rising Stars series will also be held in October, as the brightest young gaming talent from around the world aim to establish themselves in front of a global audience.
A new initiative for 2020, this new talent-spotting programme required young hopefuls around the world to tackle four Online Challenges in which Gamers are divided into three categories, depending on their location. These three are the Americas (North and South), Europe and Africa, and finally Asia and Oceania.
The Regional Final for the Americas will take place on Wednesday 7th October. Asia and Oceania’s hotly contested Regional Final is one week later, on Wedneday 14th October while the Europe and Africa Regional Final is on Wednesday 21st October.
The stakes in the Regional Finals couldn’t be higher, with the winner in each category (Americas, Europe and Africa) receiving a guaranteed place in the MotoGP eSport Draft Selection in 2021.
