Misano: winning territory in 2020 for Alex Marquez

The Repsol Honda Team rider has already claimed victory at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli this year - in Virtual Race 4

It was the first premier class head-to-head duel between the Marquez brothers. Repsol Honda Team teammates Alex and Marc Marquez battled it out at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in the fourth Virtual MotoGP™ Race earlier this year, with the reigning Moto2™ World Champion eventually coming out on top after a final corner move.

After proving he’s more than handy on the MotoGP™20 video game, Alex Marquez has also proved he’s ready for the fight on track with his RC213V. The double World Champion has had a very solid start to life as a premier class rider, finishing every race – bar the Styrian GP – inside the points and claiming a best of P8 in Andalucia.

So, after winning on the Repsol Honda in the virtual world, is the best result of the season inbound for the number 73 at either the Gran Premio Lenovo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini or Gran Premio TISSOT dell'Emilia Romagna e della Riviera di Rimini? He’s had podiums on the Riviera di Rimini before, three of them to be exact: 3rd in 2019 and 2013, and 2nd in 2014.

“It has been nice to return home, relax a little, see the family and keep training. Austria did not go exactly as I wanted it to, but I am determined to come back stronger this weekend,” previewed Alex Marquez, ahead of the upcoming double-header at Misano.

“We had a good battle and result in Misano in the eSport race earlier this year, hopefully we can have a good race again! Misano is a circuit with a lot of variety, the tight opening section and the faster back section.”
