The winner of the first Virtual MotoGP™ Race, Alex Marquez (Repsol Honda Team), was forced to surrender his crown on Sunday after both Francesco Bagnaia (Pramac Racing) and Maverick Viñales (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) were able to escape at the front of the race.
After being the only man to avoid a crash in the first Virtual Race, this time the Moto2™ World Champion got collected going into the first corner on the first lap and then became one of Taka Nakagami's victims throughout the entertaining 10-lap event. However, he wasn't the only Marquez to be wiped out by the LCR Idemitsu Honda rider after older brother Marc had also been collected by him a few laps earlier.
The eight-time World Champion joked about it at the end of the event, in which he finished 4th, less than 3 seconds from his brother who broke clear of him in the final laps after a fierce fight over third. "We will have a small meeting between the HRC riders, don't worry," Marc joked about the quite aggressive style of Nakagami, who equally couldn't hide his smile. Alex, meanwhile, was pleased to have got the better of his brother for the second time in two weeks: "We had a great time and I had the opportunity to fight Marc and win".
