While the MotoGP™ eSport Global Series is in full flow, providing drama and entertainment at every turn, the Rising Stars Series gets underway this week as the gaming stars of tomorrow put their skills to the test!
First run in 2020, the Rising Stars Series is an initiative to find and promote new, young talent to challenge at the top of MotoGP™ eSport in years to come.
Just as Dorna’s junior racing programmes (the Red Bull Rookies Cup, the FIM Junior World Championship, Asia Talent Cup, the British Talent Cup, the Northern Talent Cup) aim to promote young talent to the pinnacle of the sport, the Rising Stars Series aims to do the same in the rapidly growing eSports world.
A glance at this year’s Global Series shows we are already reaping the rewards of the series previous three years. There Plat1forLyfe – the victor of last year’s Rising Stars Series when riding under the acronym of Bailey – has already notched up a podium finish in the first two rounds. And PieroRicciutti, the runner up in last year’s MotoGP™ eSport Championship, was another graduate of the Rising Stars Series.
The structure of the series is similar to 2022. The programme consists of three Online Regional Challenges, where results will be separated by three World Regions (the Americas, Europe and Africa, Asia and Oceania). The top three gamers per region (nine in total) after the third Online Challenge will then qualify for the final to determine the winner.

Authentication Process
Before participating in any of the qualifying events, you must be enrolled to compete in the Rising Stars Series. To start your journey to the top, login with your esport.motogp.com account or register a new one and be sure to accept the 2023 Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Terms of Participation. Then go to your profile, grab the ID Code and insert it in the MotoGP Videogame.
The Championship Format
The Rising Stars Series is comprised of two phases: three Online Regional Challenges and the Online Final.
First of all, the Online Regional Challenges (Qualifiers) will be disputed in time attack mode and the gamers who achieve the fastest lap times will be awarded points. Only the fastest lap times will count and gamers will be awarded points depending on their position in the final classification at the end of each Challenge.
The three Challenges will run through this month and next, with gamers tasked with posting the quickest lap times at three different layouts with three different machines.
Gamers will be divided into three categories, depending on their location. These three are the Americas (North and South), Europe and Africa, and finally Asia and Oceania.
The three players from each region who have the most points after the third and final Challenge will then qualify for the Online Final.
The big change for 2023 is all Online Challenges (and the final) will be disputed using MotoE™ machines. Less than a fortnight on from the dramatic finale of the 2023 MotoE™ World Championship, gamers must use Ducati’s visionary V21L electric machine to set the fastest time on a variety of tracks.
With three gamers qualifying per region, a total of 9 gamers will participate in the Online Final (3 from the Americas, 3 from Europe and Africa, 3 from Asia and Oceania).
The Online Final will comprise of just one race on 3rd November. The Online Regional Final will be online based and disputed on the PC. This race Will be held on a circuit from the 2023 MotoGP™ calendar.
The winner of the Online Final will be awarded with a place in the 2024 MotoGP™ eSport Pro Draft.
